GUIDELINES FOR FIRST YEAR MBBS
Frankly speaking I am not the individual who should be supposed to tell you juniors about these guidelines because I didn’t took my first year somewhat seriously but making this attempt of writing these guidelines is a special (HOLY ORDER) of a respected senior .
SO FIRST THIING FIRST WO YEH K,
“BEST WISHES AND CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN TO ALL OF YOU “
SECOND MOST IMPORTANT THING IS
“DON’T FORGET TO ENJOY’
As being a medico it doesn’t mean that you
have to stick to books round the clock .
Try your
best to maintain a regular study schedule but don’t be panic or
overwhelm if you miss at times .Have fun
,make memories with friends because this time won’t come again ,
5.5 years is a lot ,right …. wo kehty hai
na k “BADE BADE SEHERO MAIN AISI CHOTI
CHOTI BAATE HOTI REHTI HAIN”
NOW
coming to our main topic
ANATOMY
Most of you might think of anatomy as a deadly subject but believe me it is one of the most interesting and easy one in first year .
For gross anatomy ,I would like to recommend “SNELL’S CLINICAL ANATOMY BY REGIONS”
You can also use GRAY’S ANATOMY but it is somewhat lengthy and have so much extra stuff which is not so much necessary for exam purposes .you can cover easily whole exam stuff from snell but if u wanna be more extraordinary you can use gray’s.
HOW TO STUDY ANATOMY?
DISSCUSION:
I think the best way to study anatomy is by
discussion because in this way anatomy becomes more digestable plus you won’t
forget it easily u will remember it for long time.
VISUAL:
Using ‘ATLAS OF HUMAN ANATOMY’ or ‘watching video lectures etc
Try as much as you can to learn anatomy visually like going through diagrams and watch kenhub videos (highly recommended) plus I would like to recommend (SAM WEBSTER) also a good source available on youtube .
READING:
As for as reading is concerned so make sure to finish ( snell) at least one time before preps .
Read properly mean try to understand stuff not just to float over surface .
finishing one time before preps will help a lot during your preps and it will be more easy for you to prepare well for proff. Highlight texts as you go through it will be helpful for final revision .
lecture sources:
KEN HUB….
SAM WEBSTER……
TCML…THE CHARSI OF MEDICAL LITRATURE
GOOD AND VERY HELPFUL
